Calendar complication on Apple Watch

My problem is that my Apple Watch calendar complication on the watch face says ‘none’ but if you tap it to open the calendar it shows all the events i have for the day, consequently it’s useless! I’ve noticed that it works on a “modular” watch face but not on any of the others, they all say “none”. Also, this seems to have been happening for years and it’s now 2023 so how can it STILL be happening? Does anyone know how to fix this please. Thanks.
