iPhone 15 pro - panoramic photos are dull

When I take a panoramic photo with my iPhone 15 Pro, it looks duller and a bit darker - almost like a filter has been applied. When I switch back to regular photo mode and take a photo of the same scene, it's bright and crisp like it should be. This never happened with my iPhone XR (which I just switched from) - panoramics were bright and beautiful.

I'm wondering if a filter or adjustments are automatically being applied to panoramics? Has anyone else noticed this, and have you found a way to fix it?

Update to Nov 7 comment: Switching Photographic Styles to Standard didn't actually solve the dull/dim look of panoramas on my 15pro in the long run. It's happened since. Good news is, the dull panoramas look just as bright as regular photos after uploading to my laptop.

i would surmise that panoramic photos are not HDR, while other photos are fully HDR. for each standard photo, the iphone takes like up to 12 photos in superquick succession and then calculates the final result from it. i remember having an app that showed how many pictures a photo was made up of, but i can't find it anymore.

panoramic photos are made from shooting narrow vertical »bands« and stitching together the final image from them. maybe the camera is not capable of shooting these bands in the necessary speed, because the camera is moved along the horizontal axis.

ps: i've been waiting for HDR panoramas with each new iphone, and will buy one the moment this is announced.

After speaking to Apple Support, they figured out that it was being affected by the Photographic Styles setting. Mine was set to cool. Once we switched the setting to Standard, new panoramic photos are bright and true to life.

To change this setting, go to Settings > Camera > Photographic Styles > Standard

Hope this helps anyone who's encountered this issue.
