Timer Bug

IOS17 introduced a timer bug. When I start a timer, it now goes to a screen showing multiple timers, requiring an extra step to get back to the original screen. I use two second timers multiple times a day, a five second timer once a day, but it reverts to the five second timer even when I've changed the setting back to two. This is unacceptable behavior. I do not want the multiple timer function, how can I permanently turn it off?
