eSIM vs Physical SIM internationally When I travel overseas with my iPhone 13 Pro, I often buy a local SIM card as it is usually much less expensive than my US carrier’s “International “ plan. Will I still be able to do this with an IPhone 14 Pro and it’s eSIM?

Using esim in USA and not having normal Australian telstra sim racking up international roaming but able to receive data and calls via secondary esim Hi support if l have an American carrier esim while on vacation in USA (in iPhone 13 ) can l turn off international roaming with my Australian carrier normal sim ( Telstra ) and still use data and receive calls in USA with the esim number . OR once roaming is off will the esim not also work in roaming So l would need to remove normal Telstra sim and just use roaming with esim. As one is primary Normal sim The esim would be secondary thank you in advance for your help graeme

Does your plan cover roaming abroad in the country where you are/want to go? It depends on many things, it depends on your settings, on your carrier, on your plan and on the carriers that your carrier use in the foreign country, it could be a patchy signal, or a slow connection. Can you contact your carrier and ask?

You contact your current carrier and sign up for their International plan, assuming they have one.

On the iPhone it’s in Mobile Service>Mobile data options>toggle on data roaming

I have done that. But the roaming settings I've selected don't work. I have an esim with two lines available.

Done that on both available esim lines. Can message but can't make calls. Instead of 5 bars, I have five dots.

Do you have an international calling plan option enabled from your carrier? If yes, contact them and ask about the connection issues.
