AirPods Pro 1 Connectivity Issue

Please tell me I am not the only user with this issue, say I’m in a call AirPods are clear as a bell. End the call now I want to listen to a podcast. The AirPods which are connected to my phone don’t have the audio coming through them but instead it’s playing through my phone speaker! Same with other apps too YouTube, Music and so on. I’ve tried an update and a reset still the same thing.
