Since upgrading to Sonoma I have several external drives that will no mount. Some are SD card readers, one is my Hasselblad X2D.

Hi, I have the same error message/code when trying to mount my sandisk 1TB extreme, as it does appear in the disk utility. But it was mounting before the last update to sonoma 14.1.1, although it could take it time sometimes to do so. I really would like not to lose the data :(
Thanks in advance
Could not mount “Extreme SSD”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49668.)
Hi!
Here to help!
First - wow, I am impressed, Hasselblad. Not your average camera! (I am excited, my cousin also has a Hasselblad, but nvm).
The Hasselblad has an internal memory option of Sony or Sandisk. What I would like to know exactly what you are mounting? Is that internal or one of these:
1. Sony CEB-G Series CFexpress Type B memory card (128GB)
2. SanDisk Extreme Pro CFexpress Type B memory card (128GB, 256GB, 512GB)
Also, you say "several" - I would like to know more about this:
Let me know!
Kind regards
RRD
The X2D has an internal 1TB drive. The CFExpress card I use is a Sandisk 256GB. Both appear in Disk Utility grayed out. When I click to mount the drive I get this error: Could not mount “Linux File-Stor Gadget Media”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49668.)
I also use a Sony card reader model MRW-G2 which mounts CFExpress type A and SD cards. I get the same results with these. It appears Sonoma does not support ExFAT. Is that the case?
Haven't tried my camera card with Sonoma yet. But I do know my external drives formatted in exFAT have failed to mount in Sonoma. Had to use EaseUS software to copy over files from the unmounted drives. I'm changing all my drives from exFAT to APFS.
Sorry to say that besides the other issues we're talking about, I read that Sandisk Extreme SSD itself has issues. There have even been lawsuits. And Western Digital customer service has not been helpful.

Many thanks for the information. Since I’ve been using the extreme ssd for 3 years prior without a problem, and actually using an iMac on Ventura right now to copy the data, as the drive has been recognized immediately.
will try to reformat the ssd after.
Glad you're getting the drive to mount in Ventura. I would take it one more step and not use the Sandisk Extreme SSD again...get another brand since that model has lots of reported problems. (But maybe your 3 year old Sandisk was made before the current manufacturing problems, and might be okay.)
Just to clarify and leave a trace of my experience with the subject.
It appears my SanDisk Extreme SSD 1TB was not part of faulty batch of products. Still, after the last update to Sonoma, on my new Mac Mini M2, I could only see the SSD in Disk Utility, unmounted. trying to mount would cause the above error code.
After having copied all the data to another drive, through an older iMac stuck on Ventura, where the SSD was immediately recognised, came back to the Mac mini M2, erased and reformatted the SSD (still exFAT) to no avail... Reformatted again in MSDOS, where it would mount directly. Then reformatted again back to ExFAT, and it now mounts immediately.
As advised I will be using the SSD with caution. Hope this helps, thanks everyone
This is not good. If Apple has dropped support for ExFat I will have to go back to Windows.
The upgrade to Sonoma 14.1 fixed the issue.
