Can't edit texts BEFORE sending since 17.0.3

I have the same issue and it’s driving me crazy. even if I bring the cursor up from the bottom, which you have to do evidently, the minute I get it to where I want it to be and I scroll to the word to correct, it goes right back to the bottom ….and that’s just with the cursor ! I can’t edit at all!!

This glitch needs to be FIXED!!

It is absurd to have to press the spacebar in order to edit properly.

Please tell Apple this is unacceptable.

An update to fix this error in the OS needs to be issued ASAP!!

Same. It’s been like this for several months now. It’s not just iMessages. It’s my notes, on a webpage, Facebook, it’s ANYTHING I type that I need to edit.

Having the same issue… Tried the “spacebar” then restart suggestion from support with no success. Frustrating

Yep, I’ve done the copy / paste / edit in another application and then come back but very frustrating

For editing the message before it's sent, you would press and hold the space bar which allows you to lift the cursor and drag it to the location of your choice.

If that is not working as expected, try a restart of your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support.

Same here. I end up doing this:

select all

cut

paste into the notes app

edit there

then

select all

cut

paste into text and send

This must be addressed by Apple!

It a glitch that needs to be fixed asap.

The problem isn’t just with sms or iMessages though, so your solution is a dead end.

I just tried the spacebar edit and it worked! I put my cursor where I wanted to edit and it immediately scrolled to the bottom. Then, I pressed the spacebar and the cursor was where I wanted it. I made my edit. Hope it continues working. Like the rest of you, it’s so frustrating.

I have the same issue and it is very frustrating. If I am texting a friend or family member I can usually edit after I send. The same is not the case for a business or the like. I do not want to take the risk that I can edit after sending because experience has shown me I cannot.
