The card has video clips that I took with my Sony camcorder. I have attached a screenshot. On the media import screen the media on the card does not show up. I had this problem last time I used FCP (almost 2 years ago) and I can't remember what the solution was. It seems like it had to do with allowing permissions or something in my computer settings.
Does FCP have "Full Disk Access" in System Settings->Privacy & Security? It must.
Can you read other camera cards without any problems?
Is this a camera card or just footage on the card? Post a screenshot of what you see in the left sidebar of the import window.
So it's camera card. It should appear in the Cameras section. Please give complete details of the media specifications and the camera you used to shoot the material.
Yea!!! You solved my problem. Thank you. I will make a note of this in case it happens again.
