Apple support aren’t able to help me with “Apple Pay” issue. I have iPhone X with the latest iOS update. What can I do?

I keep receiving an error message “Apple Pay issue
”Your iPhone is currently unable to use Apple Pay”.
When I try to purchase using Apple Pay I get a message saying
“updating cards
Apple Pay will be available when updates are complete”
Force close the Wallet App, and restart the iPhone, and try again.
