iPhone 14 Pro Max Back Shattering Every 3 Months

I got the iPhone 14 Pro Max back in March, 2023, the back of it was shattered in June 2023, in an OtterBox case dropping from my waist level and I didn’t know for days, until my fiancé pointed ig out, I got my new iPhone 14 Pro Max shipped to me a couple weeks later, so I got it end of June beginning of August and the back of it is shattered again in the knock of OtterBox defender case, and it landed face down, again, from my waist level, the screen didn’t get a new scratch on it but the whole back is shattered again. And I’m at a loss for what to do because I have to pay 100 dollars out of pocket every 3 months to have my phone replaced and I’m expected to pay it off for 3 years making it so if I have to replace the phone every 3 months like I have been, another 1200 dollars into the phone, and I’m really frustrated because it’s not like I’m chucking the phone or being rough with it it’s as simple as falling out of my hand or sweatshirt pocket, and I feel as like if I’m expected to pay the phone off for 3 years the phone should last 3 years not 3 months, and I’ve tried calling apple support and they pretty much told me they can’t do anything and to post on here. Any suggestions??

I don’t believe it to be that simple. I have also had no issues with mine, but my wife has the exact same phone and is far more responsible about not dropping her phone. We also both got our phones the same day. We got the back of her phone repaired less than a week ago and she dropped it from 2 feet high and the back shattered. In the exact same pattern as it did last time. It is also in the same pattern as some phones I’ve seen pictures of while doing basic research. My phone has had no issues and I have dropped my phone many times as I’d assume you have as well, even if not from above waist length. I think some phones were manufactured wrong thus causing problems with the back glass.

Your Battery Might be Corroding:

If you see slight bulging, then you battery is corroding. If so, you need to get this serviced, ASAP.

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

How old is this Mac? If this is covered under warranty, then maybe you can get it serviced free of charge, being it is found to be a faulty device. You have a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited-wattanty with this too. So, if any of that applies, and if found to be a faulty device, then it might be free-of-charge. In all, that would be Apple's call.

Info on Contacting Apple:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there as Necessary
  • NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, calls are taking a bit longer to get through. And, that makes sense, because many are at home working out-of-the-house or are taking classes over-the-web, this they have more time on their hands to contact Apple Support. So, it might take a bit to get through to Apple Support. But, just stay on the line, and someone will be with you :)
