CarPlay - skip to next message

This is not an issue with firmware, Apple seems to have changed the functionality. Instead of skipping the message, it has replaced the option with a call option. We would like the option to skip the message added back instead of the call option. Or at least the ability to customize it to whatever option we prefer.

I have the same issue on my 2024 Subaru outback. The skip function for text messages worked perfectly until my iOS was upgraded to 17.1.1. I would like a definitive answer from Apple on whether this was intentional or not, and how to fix it. Thanks very much.

If you're on the latest version of iOS 17.0.3 and you're not seeing the option to skip the messages within CarPlay as an option, you'll also need to ensure that you have the latest firmware update installed for CarPlay by contacting Honda. They can verify and see if there's a firmware update available for your vehicle.

I have the same issue and I have a Subaru forrester. So that begs the question, since the new update should the skip function still be there or was it erased (accident or on purpose)? Seems like it should still be there and now it’s not on a few different makes of cars and it happened after the iOS 17 update. So sounds like it’s an iOS issue to me.

My mini Cooper CarPlay is also now not letting me skip text messages ever since i updated the phone system. This is not good!!! Please fix this issue!
