Have to approve extra screen time twice

Hello, whenever I need to approve extra time for myself, the app never responds to it the first time. Either the popup goes away and the entire app is frozen, and when closing out shows that it is still locked and I have to enter in extra time again. Or it works for 5 seconds and then the screen time popup shows up again. Any advice on how to make it stop doubling would be appreciated. Thanks
