Trying to add a fingerprint in MBP 15", Ventura 13.5.2
There is no Option or Field to ADD A FINGERPRINT. (Very important since right shoulder replacement complications present a need to add left fingerprint)

There is a limit—You can only have so many finger prints.
If necessary remove some are all if no resolve and add them back

You can add up to three fingerprints to your user account (your Mac can store up to five fingerprints total).

if you have an issue— equivalent Shut down, close the lid 30 secs+ , reboot as normal.
If no resolve try SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support to sort anomalies.
