Airdrop saving prompt - New update or changed settings?

I have been using my Macbook and my Ipad synchronously for my studies. I have been using a 3rd party note taking app (Notability) to arrange and work on my notes. Earlier when I wanted to get a PDF to the app, I just airdrop the file and it gives a prompt asking me where to save the file. So I can choose the app and it will directly save in the app.

But now, I dont know if its due to a update or a setting being changed, when I airdrop, it is directly saved to files if its a document. I have to go to files again and save it in my note taking app. I dont like it as I have to go and save again in the app when I was used to saving once. And also docs are also filing up in my files. I need to delete each of them every time after saving to the app. Does someone know how to fix it? It would be a big help.
