I updated my Mac this morning and after restarting, chrome was replaced with searchmine.net. How do I remove it? Most of the answers I’ve found say to go to system preferences, but I see system settings instead. I am far from techie and don’t know what a “suspicious” launch agent or application looks like.

It sounds like you have unwanted software on your Mac that is affecting the Chrome web browser.
