Locking Apple Watch when using workout app

Since downloading watchOS 10.0.1 the lock facility on my workout app has disappeared. When I open the outdoor run app and swipe left I am offered End, Pause or Segment. The blue waterdrop icon is no longer there. Where has it gone?

Use the Control Center to use the "waterdrop icon."

"To open Control Center, press the side button (for watchOS 9 or earlier, touch and hold the bottom of the screen, then swipe up). You can open Control Center from any screen."

This is still about the problem with Water Lock option no longer being ON the outdoor run and outdoor walk workout screens. It’s raining! Having to open the Control Center and scroll all the way to the bottom to activate the water lock is nuts — by then the watch is soaked! Is there no way to put the Water Lock option back on the workout screens where it is useful?

and in its place on the screen what the heck is the new “segment” useful for… especially during a now soaking wet run?
