Shazam doesn’t sync with my Apple Music

Since I reactivated my Apple Music after a short pause I can’t sync anything to my Apple Music. When I go to my music and then options there is no option to sync to Apple Music (see screenshot 1). I’ve re-installed the app, I’m using an iPhone 14 plus with IOS17, have an active Apple Music subscription but no option to sync. When I listen to an a song I can’t do anything since all options are grey (see screenshot 2). I did give Shazam access to Apple music on the app settings (see screenshot 3), Anyone ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hey there ErwinAnco,

We'd like to help by ruling out some basics, along with learning more about what's happening:

  1. How many devices are you using with Apple Music besides your iPhone?
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
  3. We see you have iOS 17 installed, but the latest version is iOS 17.0.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone or iPad

Cheers!

Hi there ErwinAnco,

You'll want to make sure you're following the guidance below:

Tap the Apple Music button near a Shazam to listen to that song in Apple Music. If you’re an Apple Music subscriber, songs that you've Shazamed can be automatically added to a playlist called My Shazam Tracks in the Music app. On iPhone or iPad, swipe up to My Music from the main Shazam screen, tap the Settings button , then turn on “Sync Shazams to Apple Music.”
You can also add a Shazam to another Apple Music playlist without leaving the Shazam app. Just tap "Add To" next to a Shazam, then tap the playlist. If you’re not already a subscriber, learn how to join Apple Music.
If you can’t add songs to a playlist, make sure to sync your music library with Apple Music.

You'll find this information here: Use Shazam with Apple Music, Spotify, and more - Apple Support

If this behavior persists, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support directly for further assistance. They're best-equipped to take a closer look at the issue and provide some additional guidance. This link will help you get started: Apple Support

Take care.
