Missing new catch up button

The catch up button in messages is missing. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to fix this?

Hello.

With the new ios17 there is supposed to be a button that Apple calls a “catch up” button. Its function is to take you to where you left off in a text conversation. So it takes you to the last unread text. It is supposed to be a small arrow in the upper right corner within a message. I have several phones and it doesn’t show up on any of them. All updated to the latest version of ios17.

According to the iOS 17 features page, the catch-up option will be coming in another update later this year: iOS 17 - Apple
