AppleTV remote doesn’t work after IOS 17

I have a habit of putting the Apple Remote down and forgetting where I put it. So I use the AppleTV remote app on my IPhone 13 Pro Max

Since installing IOS 17 and then 17.01 the iPhone App can’t even see the AppleTV device.

it gets the rotating dots and the message searching. Any Ideas would be really helpful.

BTW everything has been turned off and on. Has the latest IOS / TVIOS. iPhone is connected via WiFi on home router and AppleTV is connected to the same router via Ethernet.

That would be how my ATV is connected as well. I also keep my devices up to date and regularly test for the forum. In lieu of replicating myself it will usually dictate a thread full of reports shortly after if there is a widespread issue, which doesn't appear to be the case. I suggest contacting Apple support so they can investigate on their end.

Just tried and unable to replicate on my end. Sounds like you already tried a reboot, make sure to do all components (ATV, phone, router) and if it persists then contact Apple support.
