I recently upgraded to the new iPhone 15 pro. My entire message history is on my new phone but when I go to search a specific phrase or words, only texts from the last two weeks appear and nothing prior. How do I fix this so if I search for a text from a year ago, it shows?

If anyone is still having issues with this. I got on apple chat and got some help. The person that was helping me told me to got to settings, then messages, and then Siri & Search. He told me to turn off all the tabs in there and then restart my phone. Once I turned it back on to go back and turn everything back on. After doing this more messages started popping up. I also received a message at the bottom of the search stating, "More results will be shown once Messages finishes indexing." So depending on how many messages you have it could take a while to finish indexing. Hope this helps someone.

I've been having this problem in Notes for months, but just discovered it in messages as well. (I haven't done a search in messages in ages). I can't believe so many people are having this issue yet they don't have an answer. I mean, if they did, at least one of these many questions would have a solution. Instead they're all:
"Search isn't working."
"Reboot your device and make sure the software is updated."
"Thanks geniuses, that's the first thing I do every single time there's an issue. That's not working."
"Contact apple support."
Apple Support does not have an answer at the moment.
