Why is iMessage search no longer finding messages longer than one month prior?

Before I purchased my new iPhone 15, I was able to type in key words into my message search bar and find texts for many months prior. Now, I when I type in key words I know that have been used, they only show up if they've been spoken about in the last month. Is this a setting I can change?

iMessage search is not working. I am searching for terms in messages I know exist and I get incomplete results I got iPhone 15 Pro running latest version iOS 17.0.2, on 9/22/23. I confirmed all my data and messages successfully transferred over from my previous iPhone. Unable to search older texts in Messages on iPhone I recently upgraded to the new iPhone 15 pro. My entire message history is on my new phone but when I go to search a specific phrase or words, only texts from the last two weeks appear and nothing prior. How do I fix this so if I search for a text from a year ago, it shows? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

imessage text sms search indexing issues iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS17.0.2 imessage search with any words shows only most recent imessages/sms threads with that word. I know there are several more in the past wherein the word I am searching with has been used. I myself have. Have done the Siri & Search message app switching on and off, airplane mode on and off, restart, region change, time zone change, iCloud sign out and sign back in, messages back up on icloud toggle off and on etc None of these steps have helped and only the recent very few message threads show up on search. Please suggest what else I can do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

Settings > Messages > Keep Messages [Chose your option]
