iOS17 won't connect to AirPrinter on iPhone and iPad

My iPhone iOS 17.5.1 will not print wirelessly to my HP 7855. Works fine from my MacBook and worked fine 2 days ago. Went through all the disconnect/reconnect steps. Still not working.

AirPrint is an Apple technology (not to be confused with wireless printing in general) that allows you to print without an additional iOS/iPadOS app or macOS driver, provided that any iPhones, iPads and Macs are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router) as the printer. Bonjour/mDNS handles device discovery.

If all settings are OK, but there is a problem with AirPrint, you could try the following procedure in this order (do not forget the router):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the iPhones, the iPads, any Macs, and all other computers/devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPhones, the iPads, and any Macs. Finally, power on all other computers/devices.

A Windows computer does not use AirPrint.

Also, knowing the exact printer model makes it easier to answer questions like this one.

iPhone 14 Plus running 17.6.1 Cannot connect to Epson ET-3850. Same pblm for Mac Air and iPad. Connected for the past year but now nothing. I have restarted everything and am running an enterprise Wi-Fi setup. Any suggestions?

I have 2 iPhone 15s and an iPad Pro all running 17.5.1, and a Windows laptop. All devices USED to print with no issues to our Epson3750 printer. Now, the Apple products no longer can print. The option is available to select the Epson printer, but when it tries to gather supplies information it times out and then No Printer Selected. The Windows laptop can still print fine. I have powered down the printer, router, iPhones and iPad. Rebooted them all. I am still able to select the printer, but it disappears after trying to Gather Supplies Info.

On another thread for AirPrint issues they advised deleting the VPN Profile and the VPN app. I turned off the VPD and deleted the profile. I can now print on my iPhone. I will now attempt to reinstall the VPN and see if it works.
