Dark patches on iPhone 14 Pro back Back Glass

Thinking about trading in my 14 Pro this week for the new iPhone but noticed some weird discoloration/dark patches on the rear corners of my phone. Does anyone know what this is? My first guess is water damage but my phone has never fallen into water or been submerged. Would apple still accept this as a trade in?

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17

Check it yourself. You will have the option to reject any trade-in offer price.

Just answer a few questions either in an Apple Store or online (Apple Trade In - Apple - Click on Smart Phone icon) regarding the brand, model, and condition of your device. They will provide either an estimated trade-in value or a simple way to recycle it.

If you accept the trade-in estimate in the store, they will give you instant credit toward a purchase.

If you accept it online, they will send you a trade-in kit (at no cost to you) so you can send them your device. Then, once they receive your trade-in device, a team will inspect it and verify its condition. If everything checks out, they will either refund the purchase method you used to buy a new Apple device or they will send you an Apple Store Gift Card via email.

If the condition doesn’t match what you described, a new estimated trade-in value will be sent to you via email. You’ll have the option to either accept this revised quote or reject it. If you reject it, your device will be sent back to you at no charge.

I already did this. Even if I click “No” to the question “Is your iPhone in good condition” the only follow up questions mention whether it turns on, has cracks or dents and if the display and camera are functional. There’s nothing else wrong with the phone so it still accepts it for a trade in. I am not sure if Apple considers this “damage”.

I was wondering if anyone else has these patches on their back glass.
