Air Dropping Photos

my phone was replaced due to a hardware issue. I did a backup and transferred the backup to the new phone. Then I changed the new phone’s name. Now when I try to airdrop photos my contacts don’t show up to airdrop a photo to unless they change their setting to everyone for 10 minutes. This was last year so I don’t remember the name I previously had. Is there a change needed to fix this?

iPhone 14 Pro Airdrop broken - Workaround for now Airdrop no longer works between contacts with iPhone 14 Pro with IOS 16.0.3. Neither of us can use Airdrop to send photo images to each other as we have in the past with my old iPhone 13 Pro and her old iPhone 12. Here is what I found. We are both setup as contacts to each other but AirDrop simply does not work. I then enabled Airdrop for Everyone on both iPhones. After enabling this, I go into my photos, select a photo and instead of Airdrop directly to her, I select the AirDrop icon. And when I do this, I see HER as a contact and I also see "Mary's iPhone" but NOT as a contact. When I select the generic "Mary's iPhone" I can send the images (ignore the declined in the photo). Somehow IOS has lost the association between my wife as a contact as opposed to a generic other person. See photo @Apple, please fix this because we don't want to keep Airdrop enabled for Everyone.

Iphone 12 mini airdrop not working I’ve tried all the usual advice: resetting network, ensuring contact info, checking app permission, hotspot off , etc but can’t find a way to send photos to my sons phone ( or others)-even when they are sitting next to me. I can send it to my ipad but i suspect that is because it has the same apple ID . Anyone able to help with new suggestions ? Thanks in advance

You do not have to remember the name of the iPhone that you had earlier. If you know the Apple ID that is good enough. Add the Apple ID to the list of contacts on both devices
