Airdrop name on my Mac is wrong

Hello,

Just recently I've tried sending a picture to my iPhone from my Mac through Airdrop, and there was another name instead of the usual that is set up to be on my iPhone unchanged and unmodified from the very start.

Tried various methods:

  1. Changed the name in the iPhone - About settings > to no avail
  2. Changed my name in the iCloud settings on iPhone > to no avail
  3. Search through my Contacts list on both devices, Mac and iPhone to see if there's such a name (...), but there isn't
  4. Restarted both Mac and iPhone > to no avail
  5. I used another iPhone with iOS 15 and that one can see the right name of my personal iPhone with iOS 16.3 in the Airdrop.

On my Mac I can see other devices and their name is still the same, except of my iPhone's.

Any suggestions?

Devices:

MacBook Pro M1 Max - macOS Ventura 13.2

iPhone 13 Pro - iOS 16.3

iPhone 7 Plus - iOS 15.7.3

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.1

Hello SravanKrA,

When you say sharing you mean if someone else has access to one or more of my devices (under the same iCloud account). If yes, then my answer is, of course NOT. I checked and rechecked and all the names are the same in the settings, unaltered, only when using Airdrop on my MacBook Pro M1 is where the name of my iPhone appears wrong.

Let's say my name is George Richardson (which name I don't have it in my contacts list), and my iPhone's name is George's iPhone. When using Airdrop on my MacBook Pro M1 I get: iPhone Richardson, like out of the blue...and the rest of the devices detected are correct, except mine.

Cheers
