How do I change the Wi-Fi network on my Apple HomePod

This does not work. I have a Homepod set up on network A. I change the iphone I set it up to from network A to network B. I see the ‘Move Homepod to “B” and I select it. my iPhone makes an audible sound to signify that I made the choice by touch. Nothing happens… as in nothing. I did see my Homepod decide to switch to network “C” which is ridiculous as my iphone is on ‘B’. The idea of having to completely reset the Homepod because the actual software fails is a cheap workaround and not an actual fix to the function advertised.

Please tell me why this repeatedly fails. When on network A, everything works as advertised.
