Copy music to thumb drive

I copied ITunes music to my hard drive. How do I copy the music to a thumb drive for backup and can I play the music on a PC Laptop?

iMac, OS X 10.11

1. Drag-copy the files there.

2. Yes; if the tracks came from an Apple Music subscription, they'll only play while it's active and only within the iTunes Store system.

So I will have to log into ITunes to play them, they won't work with QuickTime or another player?

Do you could think I could save them as another format? I am using these for a play list for a 55th HS Class Reunion and want to make sure they will play once I get there.

If they came from an Apple Muisc subscription or have a different form of Digital Rights Management, no. Otherwise, yes.
