I want to wipe my old MacBook Pro, and use it only to play music from a flash drive. How to do that. (I wiped it already, but it wants to migrate settings. I just want it to start as if a new user.

It keeps wanting me to migrate from another source. I just want it to start as if a new user has it. Any info would be appreciated.

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 13.5

the 'approved method' for wiping your Mac installs a fresh copy of some version of MacOS.

When you restart with that fresh copy, Startup Assistant gives you a choice to enter a new account name -OR- to Migrate name and data from another source.

You may have been answering those questions too fast and blew right by it. I think it's typically just one of three radio buttons.
