Uncoupling old MacBook Air from new MacBook Air

Hello, I have migrated all my content and files from my old Mac to my new Mac. Now I would like to reset the old computer and give it to a friend without losing any content or files in my new computer. It seems that everything I do in my old Mac affects my new Mac. How can I uncouple them safely without losing data in my new computer?

First of all, log out on iCloud on your Old Mac. Then the syncing will stop.
