i have had my air pods last christmas and recently i have had an issue with my left air pod. i have just tried the procedure of reconnecting to my phone but can no longer connect. so i have two issues now.

What to do : If your AirPods won't connect - Apple Support

If your left or right AirPod isn't working - Apple Support

If help is still needed: You can check that your iPhone has the latest iOS update installed:
About iOS 16 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 16.6 is the latest version.
Your Airpods firmware should update automatically if needed:
You can check which firmware version you have: About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support

If you find a firmware update is available:
You could leave Airpods connected to power overnight with the iPhone (connected to wi-fi) close by,
so that the firmware update can take place.
