How much pictures and videos do 200 GB store in the Apple Photos app?

I am going to be running out of storage for the pictures and videos that I take in the next few months, and I am afraid that I will have to use another app just to store all the pictures and videos that I take, and I do not want to have to keep on paying more money just to get more storage.

What should I do?

iPhone 11, iOS 16

Q1. "How much pictures and videos do 200 GB store in the Apple Photos app?"

A1. Determining 200GB of Photos:

Well, an image can be up to 4MB in size. 250 of those would be 1GB. So, 250*200 = 50,000 photos at max. As for a videos, it can be in the GBs.

A2. Download All of iCloud:

Save a Few: If you wanted to, rather than upgrading your iCloud plan, you could export all of iCloud onto an external disk > verify your can access the info > trash what is in iCloud storage > and then start iCloud anew.  Read my User Tip for moreGetting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - User Tip
