LG Monitor and Ventura issues

I upgraded my Apple M1 Pro to Ventura 13.5.1 and have been experiencing continual issues connecting to my LG Monitor 27UL550.

No signal.

Entering power saving mode shortly.

The monitor after about 5mins keeps on turning itself off.

Just an update for anyone who's suffering a similar issue. I spoke to Apple Support and they seem to have solved the issue 'touch wood'.

Apple icon > System settings > Displays > Advanced > Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off (turn the toggle to 'on').

So far so good and immense thanks to Dinesh at Apple for resolving this and to jdo_apple for the link to Apple Support.

Hi Dorain1,

I've checked and there are no firmware updates for the LG monitor (27" 4K UHD IPS Monitor: 27UL550-W.AEK)

https://www.lg.com/uk/support/product-support/cs-27UL550-W.AEK/

The only software available is:

  • Dual Controller 2.73 for Mac
  • [Mac OS] OnScreen Control - version 6.04
  • Software Guide (Windows, Mac).

The issue only occurred after I updated my OS to Ventura 13.5.1 so it seems to be your end.

Please can you provide a solution as this is intolerable.

Hi gramatter,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We'll be happy to help out, but since this began after updating your MacBook Pro you will first want to check with LG to see if there are any firmware updates for the monitor. We did find this link for you to use Get Product Help & Support | LG Support.

If there is anything we can help with after reaching out to LG let us know.

Take care!
