Touch ID on new Mac 15" keeps failing

The Touch ID on my new Mac 15" will work the first few times, then stops working. I've reset it a few times. and checked for updates. Super frustrating for a Mac that is just 3 weeks old.

The Touch ID feature is not designed to completely replace the password. There will be times you must enter the password to continue. Those times, the fingerprint reader will not work, but that's by design.

Hi,

I had the same issue with my iPhone, usually the problem is the finger or the fingerprint reader, you can try to clean the fingerprint reader on your Mac and insure that your finger is not humid.

if Touch-ID won’t work anyway the best option is to go to an Apple Store or an Apple authorised reseller and discover your better assistance options
