Upgrading Lumix camera/lens firmware using Macbook

I can’t upgrade my Lumix G series cameras (G9 and GX9) or Lumix lenses’ firmware using Safari in MacBook Pro M1 2020. I tried many times to upgrade my G9 camera, going through all the right steps and allowing popup windows for Panasonic, nothing worked. The camera says “No valid picture to play”, and the software is still old. A small camera shop did the update for me for G9 on their Windows computer, and it worked right away. Now I am trying to update a Lumix lens, the same story, “no valid picture to play”. The SD card is the same that worked on Windows. What to do?

The SD card is probably NTFS.

You can reformat the SD card FAT32.

Or you can try to use https://www.easyuefi.com/ntfs-for-mac/ntfs-for-mac.html

to be able to write to the SD card.

As for the firmware issues, you can run Windows AMD on your Mac using Parallels or VMWare.

I would also send Panasonic an inquiry why they can't make a firmware updater software for the Mac. Many of their users are Mac users who depend on the Mac for its good color matching capabilities.

My SD card was the same used in the shop that upgraded my G9 using their Windows. It worked perfectly there. They said, there was nothing wrong with it. I went to Apple Genius yesterday, and they said Panasonic has not upgraded their software to work with Apple M1 chip. They said, the upgrade works with Windows and Intel, but not M1.
