iPad won't sync with Mac running Big Sur I have been syncing iPad with my Mac Pro running Big Sur fine. Recently I connected with usb cable as usual and get a msg claiming I need to upgrade my Mac to sync, but my hardware will not support any newer OS. My iPad is on osx 17.1.2. How can I get them to talk again?

wow, that is a very old macOS! The 2014 MacBook Air is compatible with Big Sur so there is no reason to stay on Mavericks, update to Big Sur instead and you will face no problems connecting your iPhone. Also, update your iPhone to the latest version (16.6) as well for important security updates
