Apple Mail with empty messages and no content

Hi

This seems a common ongoing problem others have also had.

I have a MacAir 15" laptop operating Ventura 15.3. In Apple Mail I am connected to two Gmail accounts, a Hotmail account and iCloud

I frequently find mail in the morning, with empty contents.

I've tried rebuilding the mailbox and changed settings on the advice I've seen in this forum but nothing has stopped the problem.

I'm living in hope that the next Mac OS, Sonoma will fix this problem (it would nice if Apple made it clear that it is aware of the issue and intends to fix it given it is so common) but does anyone have immediate advice for a fix please?

If anyone is following this thread, this problem continues to occur despite applying all of the suggestions in all Community forums, Google searches, Apple articles, etc. I upgraded my MacBook Air 15" to Sonoma thinking that would work. It doesn't. I can retrieve the "no content" emails on my iPhone but that is annoying and really unnecessary, isn't it? This is clearly a macOS problem. Can't the geniuses at Apple fix this? If you have found a solution, please offer it and then sell it to Apple! Thanks for responding. Rod

This issue has been present since Ventura - I too thought upgrading to Sonoma (MacBook Air 15") would have sorted out issues with Mail, but clearly not.

• empty messages

• no content

Both common problems. The only work-around I have found is to quit Mail in the evening and restart it in the morning.

The other problem I encounter with Mail is in writing emails sometimes, the text goes awry, gets jumbled and jumps around.

I've seen no sign Apple has been responding to complaints about Mail, which is disappointing given there are so many complaints in different forums.

Thanks Pete! I also find failed emails more often in the morning as well. Again, I think content fails to download while third-party mail applications and Apple Mail servers are trying to connect which can be observed using Menu>Window>Connection Doctor. Each time Mail attempts to retrieve email, it has to resolve server/port conflicts and the download is interrupted. Sometimes rebuilding the "Inbox" mailbox or moving "no content" emails to a "Recovered Messages" mailbox works but it is inconsistent and a hassle. Sometimes nothing works other than going to my iPhone and forwarding the email that has the content. I update every time there is a Sonoma update but this has not been fixed. My Apple Support agent escalated this problem to the engineer level but to date has no response. If they do, or if I stumble on some other solution, I'll post it here. Rod
