Removing apple watch

I recently gave my Apple watch away, I restarted it in settings on my watch. It looked like it was ready to be paired with a new device, so I gave it away. when the person tried to pair their phone my Apple ID came up - I went into settings on my phone and hit forget my device but my Apple ID is still showing up. I do not have my watch near me any longer so how do I disconnect my Apple ID from my watch if it is no longer showing up o my phone?

Hello meridyth240,

To remove the activation lock so that a new owner can use the Apple Watch:

  1. Go to www.iCloud.com/find.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  3. At the top, click All Devices.
  4. Select the device that you want to remove from iCloud.
  5. Click Remove from Account.
