We can’t connect air tag

Trying to connect my daughters AirTag to my phone and it will not connect

Do you use a different Apple ID than your daughter? (You should.)

An AirTag can currently only be associated with one Apple ID. If she is giving this AirTag to you, she will need to remove it from her Apple ID using her iPhone.
