how to recover item from trash

I trashed a file and need to recover it.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 13.4

Open the trash.

Either right click on the item you want to retrieve and select 'put back' or drag and drop the file to where you want it.

If you already emptied the trash, you'll have to restore the file from your backup.
