Tiny icon in MacBook Pro dock

There's a tiny red icon in my dock, not attached to any open app, nothing happens when I hover over it, I can't move it and it won’t go away.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

I restarted the Dock and that fixed the issue.


Go to terminal and run


killall Dock

it falls in a specific location— note:





Command Tab presents the HUD (Heads up Display) for running apps, see if you can figure something out there.



No insight, try shutting down with no running application and restart if in doubt.
