iCloud email rules not working

Just recently any email rules I create on iCloud.com don’t seem to work at all. I’ve tried simple “subject contains” rules and also rules from a particular address. Here’s an example:

“Move messages with subject containing Work Order to Trash and mark as read.”

Messages still go to my inbox. I’ve called Apple Support and did troubleshooting with them but they were also at a loss as to why it’s happening. I have “Advanced Data Protection” turned on for my AppleID but that shouldn’t conflict and I don’t see any posts about an issue with that.

Has anyone else had a problem with iCloud.com rules? Thanks.

I have a very clear rule that says to take any email with subject containing "cook" or "cooking" to trash and mark as read b/c all of the sudden I started getting stupid cooking emails at my main address though I've NEVER been to a cooking website or purchased any cooking things. I do my email through actual email clients so this should keep me from ever seeing them. But no, they come right on in with no issue. The rule simply does nothing. I've moved it from the bottom to the top of my rules list with no change in behavior.
