When someone tries to FaceTime me it seems them I don’t have an iPhone, what can I do about it?

One of my friends told me he was trying to send me a messages by iMessages, but it didn’t allow him to do it because it mentioned something like “This user doesn’t have an iPhone” I don’t know how can I fix that cause it’s really annoying. Please if you’ve been through a situation like that feel free to share how you fixed it.

iPhone XR, iOS 16

    3. If you can't turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple ...

*** You may not have an SMS plan (Domestic & International) enabled by your carrier for the SIM/eSIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services.
