Handwritten Notes Vanished after Exiting app or Crash

I was handwriting my notes on my Ipad on the Apple Notes app and out of nowhere the app just crashed and suddenly all my hours of notes progress was lost, I waited for 30 mins to see whether the crash fixes itself but it just vanished forever. This wasn't the first time though, it has happened several times and the same thing happens. Other times when I exit the app and when I come back to the app, it also vanishes. I tried to restart my iPad several times, but it seems to not update or anything, checked the Notes app on another device with the same iCloud, but it didn't update which was a bit frustrating when my internet is constantly working well.

Note: iPadOS 16.6, everything is up to date (iPad 17.0 was buggy so I came back to this latest released version).

Wish Apple can fix this so I don't have to waste unnecessary hours rewriting my notes.

I was taking notes in an all day meeting. Hours in (a few pages of notes) the rendering of the existing note glitched (portions/rectangles were missing when scrolling back up the note). I think the app crashed (or perhaps I exited). I then found that the note reverted to an earlier state, missing a few hours of updates. The timestamp on the note was current, but the content was old.

I have three devices - was using my iPad to take notes. My phone and laptop all show the same (old) version of the note.

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to recover notes in the Notes app on your iPad, even after trying some good steps. Just to be sure, see if these notes could be synced to another account other than iCloud, and here is more info: Add or remove accounts in Notes on iPad - Apple Support

Hi jdo_apple,

Thank you for reaching out, for clarification; I suddenly lost some of the contents in the notes I was handwriting in. They were all synced through iCloud and when I checked the other device, they appear as the vanished version. I'll try the "Set up an On My iPad Account" thing in the Notes settings.
