My Apple+ TV keeps freezing with google casting. Peacock works fine. Making me quit Apple TV+

Hi there,

We have a Samsung TV that doesn't have the Apple app available. As a work around I have a Chromecast that allows us to access the app. Unfortunately, when we are about 15 mins to any show, the video suddenly freezes but but the audio continues on. To remedy, we have to exit the app and restart the show from the beginning. Watching anything has become a labor of patience and my wife now wants to get a new TV.

There needs to be a better way to resolve this? It only happens when. We use appletv using the Chromecast.

1. Does this only happen when using Google Cast, or does it happen at other times as well?

2. Do you receive any error messages when this happens? If so, what does the error say?

3. Does the issue happen when connected to multiple networks, or only a specific network?

If the video quality is bad or it stops playing

What is it you're trying to stream from your Mac to your Apple TV? Almost everything you can play on your Mac, you can play on your ATV directly without streaming.

Get a Fire TV Stick (or Roku Stick) the next time they're on sale. Both will allow you to use lots of apps unavailable on an older television, including Apple TV, and with much less fuss than Chromecast.
