My Apple+ TV keeps freezing with google casting. Peacock works fine. Making me quit Apple TV+

Trying to cast from MacbookAir OS 13..., Peacock works fine.

Hi there,

We have a Samsung TV that doesn't have the Apple app available. As a work around I have a Chromecast that allows us to access the app. Unfortunately, when we are about 15 mins to any show, the video suddenly freezes but but the audio continues on. To remedy, we have to exit the app and restart the show from the beginning. Watching anything has become a labor of patience and my wife now wants to get a new TV.


There needs to be a better way to resolve this? It only happens when. We use appletv using the Chromecast.


Please advise!

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.


1. Does this only happen when using Google Cast, or does it happen at other times as well?

2. Do you receive any error messages when this happens? If so, what does the error say?

3. Does the issue happen when connected to multiple networks, or only a specific network?


The above details will help us plan how to proceed.

If the video quality is bad or it stops playing

1. If multiple people on your network are using the internet, your connection speed might slow down. Ask them to temporarily pause their internet activities.
2. If you're using a smart TV or streaming device, turn it off and back on again. If you're using an Apple device, restart it.
3. Tap or click the download button to try downloading the movie or TV show instead.*

* You can't download movies or TV shows to Apple TV, smart TVs, or streaming devices. You can download HDR content only to certain iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models. You can't download 4K video content to any device.
