If you are in a group chat w/ 3 or more people and 1 or more are non iPhone users you are stuck in that chat for eternity. I have contacted apple numerous times. They haven't been responsive. Only dismissive. Anyone else ****** off about this?
I've had to block friends and family to temporarily stop getting the group chat.

You're missing the point. I shouldn't have to ask everyone in the chat to leave. I should be able to leave.
Muting doesn't work by the way.

You need to ask the other people in the group to start a new one without you. Meanwhile, you can mute the thread. From the main conversation screen, find the conversation. Put your finger on it and pull to the left. Tap the purple bell with a line through it.

What you want is not currently possible. I don't happen to share your concerns but I recognize they are important to you. What point am I missing?
