Apple does not provide an inbuilt feature to lock individual apps with a passcode or biometric security on iOS devices. The specific reasons are not explicitly stated by Apple, but here are a few potential reasons:

1. Design Simplicity: Apple places a significant emphasis on user-friendly design. They might consider an app locking feature as complicating the user interface and experience, and prefer keeping operations as streamlined and simple as possible.

2. Overall Security: Apple's iOS is designed to be secure throughout. When your iPhone or iPad is locked, all apps are effectively locked. Apple might consider this level of security sufficient for most users.

3. Privacy Concerns: If Apple were to implement an app-locking feature, they would effectively have the ability to lock and unlock apps. This could potentially raise privacy concerns among users.

4. Reliance on Third-Party Apps: There are numerous third-party apps available on the App Store that provide the ability to lock individual apps. Apple might prefer to let third-party developers handle this feature.

Remember that these are just plausible reasons and may not represent Apple's actual reasons, as those have not been officially declared. It's also possible that Apple could introduce such a feature in the future.

This missing feature will likely be the reason that I move away from using an apple phone after about 10 years of using exclusively apple. This missing feature is currently the reason why I view the wallet app to be unsafe and unusable.

I need the option to lock specific apps behind a unique passcode. I should be able to share my lock screen passcode without granting a person complete access to everything within my device.

Credit Karma’s numeric passcode option to enter the app is a perfect example of what I’m looking for.

TLDR: I would like to allow people to know the passcode to my Lock Screen, but since I am unable to lock individual apps behind a unique passcode, allowing access to my phone is too risky.
