Apple Music Equalizer

I've seen other users flag this problem previously, but I have exactly the same issue. Each time I open the Apple Music application on my iMac Pro (2017) the equalizer displays my preset correctly, but is actually not applying the preset. I have to open the equalizer window, tick the 'off' option, wait a few seconds and then tick it back on again. Really annoying.

I've read the previous replies from Apple to other users who have reported the same issue in 2022 (and beyond). And have followed all of the recommended steps to no avail.

It would be great if this problem could be addressed once and for all ...

Hey Lance-Chinnian,

Does this seem to happen with the same songs? Make sure you don't have a preset assigned to the songs as that will override the settings. Those details can be found in the section "Use the Music equalizer", just in case: Adjust the sound quality in Music on Mac - Apple Support

I'm experiencing the same issue - when equalization is manually set, it will not save as a preset. Worse yet, the manually set equalization sometimes changes on its own. Very frustrating.

I'm running Music v1.4.2 on a Mac mini M1 (2020) with OS Sonoma 14.3

P.S. I run a USB-to-optical converter between the Mac mini and the digital-to-analog DAC that connects to a power amp, but I don't see how this would prevent an equalization setting from being saved in the Music app.

Sincerely hope that Apple can fix this issue with a timely update.
