Erase iphone is still blocked?

Hi, two days ago my bag with my iPhone 11 was stolen.

At the beginning I marked the phone as lost and then since I noticed it was impossible to have it back I erazed it.

This evening I notice that the iPhone has been erazed. What does that mean exactly?

Besides the fact that all info and data has been erased, is the iphone still with a block code or is it freely accessible?

Thanks in advance.

As long as you don’t remove it from your account no one will be able to use that phone.

But beware of a common phishing scam: You may get a text or email from “Apple” or “Apple Security” (or sometimes “Police”) saying your phone has been found and to click on a link to see its location. This is NEVER from Apple or from law enforcement; it is from the thief or fence to steal your Apple ID and identity. Delete any such message without responding to it. Apple never gets involved in lost or stolen devices→Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams
