I am having total storage of 32gb and I have used only 14.5gb . But now when I am wanting to back my iPad and upgrade the software it is showing that there is no space . I am facing a huge problem due to this . So please kindly take appropriate action for my problem.

Perhaps the error that you see, concerning available space, refers to iCloud storage - and not your iPad?
Are you attempting to backup your iPad to iCloud? Be aware that unless you have an active iCloud+ subscription, you will only have 5GB of iCloud storage for your backup and other iCloud storage needs.
Unless you are only using iCloud to synchronise services between two or more device, the free-of-charge 5GB storage quota is insufficient for many Users.
Paid iCloud storage tiers are 50GB, 200GB and 2TB.
