My iPhone13 is overheated on FaceTime video.

Recently, I bought an iPhone 13 and I was very disappointed that during a FaceTime video call through LTE, the phone became extremely hot and no other app was active in the background. Is this normal?

I cant speak to normal. Generally the benchmark for there being an issue is 'too hot to handle'. If it gets that way then there may be something wrong with the phone. Just getting hot can just be the strain of what you're doing. Video and video calls (along with playing videos) does strain the processor and battery.

Your ambient temperature may also have something to do with it. My device's tolerance to stress like this is much better when it's cooler than scorching hot as the weather is now in so many places.
